How to Smell Like Brigitte Bardot

I've mentioned before that I can be a bit of a perfume-floozy. When the seasons change, I become restless and I want a new fragrance.

Last fall I was obsessed with Annick Goutal's Mandragore {made from the "magical" mandrake root}. But, since the bottle is almost empty, I have been on the prowl for a new perfume. I was leaning toward Patyka Ambre or Marc Jacobs Lola {both of which smell amazing}, but I wasn't completely ready to make the commitment...and then I discovered Tocca Brigitte.

Thank-goodness for Sephora free samples!!! I probably would never have found this perfect scent otherwise! The fragrance is inspired by Brigitte Bardot, and is a blend of rose and sandalwood -- just gorgeous. I believe finding a perfume that suits you is a little like buying a new house or car -- you just know when you see it...or smell it, in this case!

What about you?? Do you stick to one fragrance year-after-year, or do you switch it up? How do you know when a scent is right for you?

Wow I wish I had money.
I've been DYING to go perfume hunting lately.
My ultimate basic, everyday perfume was actually a gift from a friend who knew me really well.
I think it will be one of the ones I buy over and over.
But I like to have two or three to choose from all the time, and I think it's important that my other half likes what I wear.
The first time I smelled Daisy (MJ, obvs), Toby was with me and he loved it on me so much he bought it for me on the spot.
Awww!
:)

I switch it up - I've had quite a few diors: two of the original poison (I think mainly because I loved the dark purple bottle) and etc - but I like the old classics like Miss Dior and Joy...I choose perfume jsut from "Do I fancy the scent?" Not very technical I'm afraid! I am intrigued by Tocco Brigitte! I've not heard of it before!!

Leah -- I agree, it is important for the other half to like your smell ;)

Sam -- My stepmother used to wear Poison and I remember loving it so much I would sneak in her bathroom and spritz some on. Of course, she knew, but she never said anything ;)

I have to switch it up, so much so that I have bottles stuffed all over the bathroom! I particularly like solid perfumes...easy to travel with and stick in your purse. Although when I was in the Gap yesterday and walked by the 'perfume' section I had to buy a bottle of 'Dream', ah middle school, the memories!
