Girl Crush: Uma Thurman

I originally saw the incredible series of Polaroids by Hollywood casting director Bonnie Timmermann on Model's Own blog, and I was literally left breathless by this photo of Uma. This shot was taken at the very beginning of her career! I have always loved her -- lanky, sensual, and beautiful without being overly perfect. She is so sexy in her early films: The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Henry & June, and Dangerous Liaisons are some of my favorites {probably because I saw them when I was young and impressionable}. And Quentin Tarantino was certainly justified in making her his muse: Pulp Fiction is incredibly memorable, in part because of her quirky character; but, her role as "The Bride" in Kill Bill is just...well, killer. Have you heard there's a third Kill Bill in the works??

Enough gushing for now...

Can I say something a bit controversial here? Yes, Uma is as gorgeous as...however, I think she's lost a bit of the incredible beauty that she had as a young girl. She was car crash exquisite then - still ravishing now but not quite so...

Kira -- I know...she looks so effortlessly cool.

Sam -- I agree to a certain degree. It might have something to do with poor roles she has taken over the past 10-15 years [minus the Tarantino roles]. Maybe she is just one of those that lose a certain something over time...? Not to say all women lose that!!

i LOVE uma. my hairdresser/friend looks a lot like her. and i have a new acquaintance in okc who resembles her, also. i think uma is in the same class as angelica huston, captivating and commanding and utterly, heart-rendingly feminine.
