Manic Monday

I'm just dropping in for a quick, erratic post today. I'm up to my neck in paper-grading. Thanks for all of your supportive comments about my wine-tasting! I'm happy to say that the recipes turned out even tastier than I imagined, and everything seemed to be a hit with the wine group. I also learned that I LOVE Argentinian Malbec...it's sort of spicy, just like the food!

On Sunday we celebrated my lovely step-mother's birthday, and for fun, we stopped by the Mayo Hotel to see the renovations. If you are a Tulsan, I'm sure you know some of the history of this gorgeous {and long-abandoned} art deco building. If not, then you should take a peek at their web page. As the site explains, the Mayo epitomized 1920's opulence, and she is finally being restored to her original beauty. I can't wait for the grand-opening! As soon as more photos of the interior are released to the public, I will share...

I'm also shamelessly excited about my new Etsy purchase -- I've been lusting over this bracelet for a while now. My favorite braided-leather bracelet broke last week, so I decided it was a sign that I needed to snap up this one-of-a-kind bracelet by Vintage Rehab, made from a piece of Victorian mourning cloth. I love the idea of wearing a bit of history!

Now, I'm off to wield my red pen...have a great Monday!
