My Must-Have Fashion Finds for 2009

I don't typically receive a lot of clothing for holiday gifts -- mainly because I'm picky, and also because I take advantage of the time to ask for other items I don't usually buy for myself (perfume, household items, jewelry, etc.). But around this time of year I start thinking of clothing and accessories I want to invest in for the upcoming season. Since I usually have a bit more cash at the beginning of the year, I often try and buy myself a few key pieces. Here are my must-haves for 2009 [I'm sure there will be more!]. What are your must-haves for 2009?

Hmmm, you must be young, thin and tall! Me, I'm just looking for a new set of sweats and blogging about Padre Island! (www.okietravel.blogspot.com)

Definitely some great great pieces in there! I'm in need of black ankle boots (or any kind of ankle boots) myself...

That metallic skirt is SO cute! I love the style of it.

Elaine -- LOL! I'm neither terribly young nor terribly thin...I am tall though, I suppose. Thanks so much for stopping by. I love a pair of sweats as much as the next person!!

Oh, I'm a sucker for sequined things - and this skirt from Forever 21 would be a perfect addition to my wardrobe, since it's both simple and elaborate at once. And the jacket from Topshop is gorgeous... It looks so soft and comfy (like sweatpants! ;) but still classy and pretty. I wish they would start shipping to Norway soon!!

ashe -- I keep looking for the perfect pair of ankle boots when I'm out, but haven't found them. I'm definitely going to end up ordering gone of these online versions.

airam -- I can't believe Topshop doesn't ship there! I think the shipping for the U.S. is still pretty pricey!

Oooh I love everything you've picked here, especially the double breasted jackets - they look so chic!

Hi tara-oh you've chosen some lovely things here, very much my style too! I scored some black skinny jeans yesterday that are just the ticket for now and next year too!

I love that top ASOS skirt - and it's so cheap. A great selection.

I really loved the Asos skirt (first picture)! :~~

karen -- Thanks my dear! Those jackets just look like something you could throw over anything and feel chic and put-together!

sharon -- Black skinny jeans are just essential -- I had a pair that I wore so much they turned grey. Now I ripped them up and they are like a new pair of jeans (just more casual)! But I need a darker black pair again (they feel dressy and appropriate for night).

lynne -- Asos has some great prices and that skirt is on sale!

paradis -- Me too! Such lovely material and shape (and price!)

I love that ASOS skirt! I've never heard of that site. I'll have to check it out. I like skinny jeans on others, but at 5'3" and curvy, I think they are one trend I should just avoid.

Cris -- Yes, I'm trying to put together a very realistic list, with prices I can actually afford!!
