One of Frida Kahlo's most striking features was -- without a doubt -- her full and fearless eyebrows. It always bothers me when I hear people say: "Oh, she would have been pretty if she had done something about those brows." What??? No way. Her eyebrows were a part of unique beauty, and honestly, I've been feeling a little jealous of her thick mane of of eye-hair lately. Alright, I would never have the confidence to pull off a full-on monobrow {nor does my hair even grow between my eyes}, but I could really use a little oomph in the eyebrow area these days. During my many years of plucking, waxing, and torturous string treatments, I never once stopped to consider the fact that one day thick brows would be back in fashion...and that all that hair pulling would eventually make them stop growing. I don't care about any of these new-fangled eyelash growth treatments, I want something that will make my eyebrows come back!
::Where do you stand on the eyebrow issue? Is anyone having this dilemma?? What I wouldn't give to have this America's Next Top Model contestant's brows! Oh well, Here is a bit of Frida to make you smile...

I can never figure out how to do my eyebrows. Is there a how-to book or something?
Maggie -- haha! That is why I have always left it to to the experts. Now that I have been trying to grow them back, it's just a mess. I'm still hoping for the best, but I might be well on my way to being one of those old ladies who has to draw them on!
I agree with you that Frida's eyebrows (and just the mere fact that she kept them) gave her lots of personality, but as one who had pretty thick eyebrows, I could never let go au naturel, wouldn't mind reshaping them though, but for that I'd have to let me fully regrow and I just couldn't do that...I have some sort of brow syndrom lol
Wicked -- I'm sure I would feel different if I had thick, unruly brows, but I sure wish I had just a little more...
Frida was a very lovely looking woman and she totally carried those brows off. I think the eyebrow thing can work if you have the "right" type of face to carry it off.
Her eyebrows became part of her art and people can't separate the two. However if she was worked in the accounting department at an office I don't think anyone would say 'wow what personality those eyebrows have!' they would say 'eesh get a wax!'. But I always likes a woman who bucks traditional beauty standards.
I hear you. I wish I had full, dark eyebrows like Brooke Shields or Jennifer Connelly (used to). I love Frieda's eyebrows, too. I hate how unibrows/monobrows are taboo. It bothers and saddens me when guys with bushy brows wax them. =[ (And for girls? Unibrows are right out of the question! Pah.)
Sam -- Yes, the right type of face...and the right amount of panache and I-don't-give-a-shit-what-people-think!
Modern -- I just giggled imagining Frida working in the accounting department. She definitely could only pull it off because of her status as a bohemian and an artist!
Erin -- I totally agree! I am always jealous of girls with spanish or middle easter heritage -- they always have such lovely, thick brows!
