Current Obsession: Dreamy Chiffon Dresses

{All dresses via Net-a-Porter}

If the new spring selection at Net-a-porter is any indicator, the general vibe of spring/summer is going to be a combination of Stevie-Nicks-ethereal and edgy-Greek-goddess. I'm not typically a flowy dress kind of girl, but after a few seasons of seeing hard edges, zippers, spikes, and uber-body-conscious looks everywhere, I'm ready for softer lines, longer hems, and CHIFFON -- lots and lots of chiffon! Stevie would approve...

Now, I just need to find some options that are a bit more price-friendly -- any suggestions?

::And what about you, dear readers? What trend are you ready to say "au revoir" to, and which are you ready to embrace?

  1. Have you seen the January W magazine? They have a GREAT editorial (huge, half the magazine) filled with the most lovely gauzy chiffon dresses. Lauren

    I'm definitely loving the pretty floaty pastel vibe for spring!

  3. Lauren -- Oh, thanks for the tip! I might need to stop by the bookstore and purchase it ASAP.

    Kat -- Agreed...though weather-wise, it seems so far away :(

  5. Jill - I'm kind of getting tired of gladiators, as well...though I did embrace them. I'm ready for some different options!

    Savvy -- I know; I love that it adds a little edge to an otherwise too-girly outfit.

  10. uh I'm so over the whole 'rock-chic' thing....studs, chains, leather....I had enough of that when I was a teenage goth! Loving the softer, more feminine looks that are filtering through

  11. harps -- agreed. I will always love my leather jacket, but the recent "pseudo-punk" trend just seems silly at this point in my life. I prefer to be a bit more creative -- mix the soft with the hard.

  12. There are some hot summer days when a flowy dress is just a must. I love the top right one - though it kind of makes me feel like I should frolic through a meadow!

  13. i can't get enough of bright colored or multi-colored leggings with short dresses or knee-length skirts mismatched with scarves/pashminas, boots, layers of tops, and a winter hat (driving hat, sock hat, stovepipe hat, etc). playful, swishy, earthy, hardy, cold-weather ready, fun. my neighbor calls it the "paddington bear look." --beamish
